Creating Personal Identity

Hi, it's Waqar here...

I'm starting this new series that will focus on experimenting with new thoughts based on daily learning.

Learning is an evolutionary process and allowing yourself to diverse challenges is what makes you rethink your choices. I will share all my experiences based on my daily encounter with different things on the Internet and in books. The purpose is to become a little wiser than yesterday. Finding out the truth and letting go of the wrong perceptions is what I intend to make out of this writing/meditation journey. Let's do this...

A few hours back I was listening to a fantastic podcast. It was Lagan Paul’s podcast and he featured my favorite human being, Tony Robbins. His (Tony's) communication skill is one of the many traits that I personally like. That hour of the podcast was full of new learning experiences. And I have collected a few important points for myself down below.

What you focus on is what you experience in life.

Money solves your money problems. Utilize all the intellectual resources you have to become a better human being than you were yesterday.

Everyone has different life experiences, try to focus on what can bring you out of your current situation. Try to become better by learning and listening to those who have achieved something in their lives.

In his personal podcast called “The Tony Robbins Podcast,” titled: Your Success is 80% Psychology | How to Use Mindfulness and Meditation to Prime Your Nervous System, Tony gives some invaluable lessons that are worth contemplation.

Here is the exact script from Tony’s podcast and these are not my words. “In today’s world of constant demands and digital distractions, mindfulness is about making your moments truly matter and living up to your full potential. It’s about your power to put your attention where you want it to be and not on what someone else dangles on a screen in front of you.”

Another script: “Your state is affected by the way you use your physical body, your ability to direct your mind’s focus, and the language or meaning you give to your experiences.”

How powerful are these lines? No matter what I would have written, my words would not have done justice to what he has written. That’s why I kept it original. It will keep reminding me what I need to do in life.

Tony also shared a secret that the human brain is good at having only these three skills:

  1. Distort.
  2. Delete.
  3. Generalizes.

Further, in the same podcast, Tony’s wife, Sage Robbins shares her experience with meditation. It was full of meaningful learning.

She said something profound during her talk that meditation is not a religious entity. Everyone with any belief can indulge in meditation to seek mindfulness. More importantly, meditation doesn’t require any specific place, you can do it while reading a book or traveling on a train. Though it is necessary to calm down and close your eyes to meditate.

Meditation is a form of profound education. It is beyond the physical world. It is a form of spiritual healing. It gives you a way to achieve high productivity and focus on what’s most important in life.

Identify your problems, but give your power and energy to solutions. -Tony Robbins
