STATE WITHOUT POOR MEN'S POLICIES IS NO STATE AT ALL
Waqar Ahmed | The Smart Perspective
The difference between the Poor and powerful Rich becomes apparent in a society that has a broken judicial governance system. The rich are in an advantageous position as they can easily approach with their powerful position to any person. Whereas the poor are occupied with their micro-level issues in life that they might never be able to trade their poverty for some personal interests. But the rich can trade their money to manipulate the system.
The
corrupt system shields the rich and punishes the poor. In an egalitarian society,
the focus of policies is poor because he is an easy goat to sacrifice. The
strong justice system and transparent legislation focus on facilitating the
poor and most vulnerable strata of society. Poor and weak are the two most
desperate communities that always need a system to support their living standards
and provide social security. They depend on the state in almost every major
part of their life: education, health, safety, accommodation, utility, justice,
wage, water, equity & equality.
The
rich have no issue with any of the basic factors that support their living
standards. They don't depend upon the state to provide quality education to
their children or provide health facilities. They can easily access all
these resources either with the government facility or without it.
But
when the system is distorted and the focus is shifted from the poor and weak prism. The target of that disorganized system becomes the ultimate poor community.
Rich who already had the advantage to control their lives have now more
opportunities to manipulate the broken system for their personal interests. Rich who had to pay monthly bills would start evading them as they know, they can easily get away with it. Furthermore, it's the rich who can easily get away with toll
taxes by simply putting a green label on cars. Whereas the Poor who has no such privilege to
maintain a luxury car has to submit to the state's brimming tax levies.
The state has the prime responsibility to protect the poor from large enterprises and corrupt elites. There is no other way around. Rich is always on an advantageous side, the one who is not is poor. When a state becomes unorganized, the filthy rich become the ultimate supervillain. There is no state without a system that protects the poor and vulnerable. Rich people don’t need a state to protect their interests because they themselves are the state. They design the policies to work for their business. Therefore, to end the oppression against the majority of the population (poor), the state has to put aside its favorites and get on board to serve the poor.
